Shrimp Feast kicks off Jubilee weekend
For 31 years, the Kiwanis Club of Chesapeake has organized the much-anticipated official opening of the Chesapeake Jubilee with its annual Shrimp Feast. This year, the club provided a selection of bar-b-que, cole slaw, baked beans, hushpuppies and ice cream in addition to some pretty terrific shrimp. The annual event is a must for good food, entertainment and fellowship prior to all that the Jubilee has to offer.
Sheriff John Newhart paused for a photo op with one of The Shopper's Graphic Designers, Eva Harrison (L) and Production Manager, Karah Angeli (R)
Kiwanis Club of Chesapeake members Berkley Gibbs, Jim Schrader, Richard Pippin, and Jeff Creekmore did a great job preparing the food and making sure a good time was had by all.
