Daffodils: Harbingers of Spring
The Northeast North Carolina Daffodil Society recently held the 1st Annual Northeast North Carolina Daffodil Show in Barco. The show was co-sponsored by the Currituck Master Gardener Volunteers and the North Carolina Cooperative Extension and was held at the new Currituck County Center. Over 360 different daffodil varieties were represented in 119 exhibits. Entries came from local gardens as well as from Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the DelMarVa Peninsula. The Currituck Daffodil Society is the only Daffodil Society in North Carolina.
