Alpha Phi Alpha hosts Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast
The Epsilon Nu Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity hosted the 4th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast to raise funds for youth in need. This year, the group recognized The Honorable Cynthia Morrison, chair of the Portsmouth Democratic Committee and Clerk of Portsmouth's Circuit Court, and The Honorable Johnnie E. Morrison, Portsmouth Circuit Court judge, as the first recipients of the Dr. Hugo A. Owens, Sr., Community Service Award.
The children of the late Dr. Hugo A. Owens: Hugo Owens, Jr., Paula Owens Parker and Patrice Owens Parker.
Dr. Curtis Edmonds, pastor of St. Mark Missionary Baptist church, which hosted the breakfast.
