Chesapeake Sports Club Scholarship Awards
At its May luncheon, the Chesapeake Sports Club awarded $28,000 in scholarships to deserving local student-athletes. The club’s fundraising events and the generous support of generous club member Nathan Beck and the Beck Family Foundation make these annual scholarships possible. The Nathan T. Beck Scholarship is awarded to a student-athlete who has lettered in soccer. The Ted Beck Memorial Scholarship, named in honor of Nathan’s father, is awarded to the student who best articulates the important role athletics has played in his or her development. Ben Smith, owner of CrossFit Krypton, was the luncheon’s guest speaker.
