Nansemond tribe celebrates 20th annual Pow Wow
The Nansemond Indian tribe recently celebrated its 20th annual Pow Wow at scenic Lone Star Lakes Lodge in Suffolk. One of the remaining tribes of the Powhatan Empire, the tribe welcomed friends and fellow Native Americans to a two-day cultural celebration that featured music, dance, authentic crafts and food. The event was co-sponsored by the Suffolk Department of Parks and Recreation.
