The Chesapeake Sports Club
The Chesapeake Sports Club's monthly meeting was held at the Chesapeake Conference Center. The new slate of officers for the coming year was unanimously approved. Tommy McMillan, Legends Chairman, introduced the next Legend of Honor, Phillip Twine. The guest speaker was Larry Rubama, sports writer with The Virginian-Pilot, who reminisced about the talent that has come out of the Hampton Roads area and expressed great pride in local athletes who have moved on to compete and play professionally. Three local athletes were also recognized for their outstanding season and accomplishments. Those attending were reminded about the jamboree coming up in March, featuring guest speaker Kenny Easley.
