Officers of the Year awards were presented by the Deep Creek Ruritan Club to the police, EMT, and firemen from the Deep Creek Community. Demonstrations by the K-9 officers were a big hit. The children enjoyed Clown Boy and the animal balloons he made for them. The library, Parks & Rec., BeeKeepers of Chesapeake, Rite Aid, Oberweis Dairy, Xenith Bank, Home for Vets, 7-11 Stores and Karen Carnegie Attorney at Law, and CERT all came out to share information with the Deep Creek residents. Mayor Krasnoff, Chesapeake Commonwealth's Attorney Nancy Parr, and many Council members were present.
