The 6th annual Sports Club Jamboree was held at the Chesapeake Conference Center this April, highlighted by keynote speaker and hometown hero, Michael Cuddyer. Great coverage and support was provided by WTKR News 3 and ESPN 94.1 FM radio. Club President Carolyn Bernard welcomed the guests and introduced Channel 3 Managing Editor and News Anchor, Barbara Ciara, as the Mistress of Ceremonies. A proclamation honoring Michael Cuddyer was read by Mayor Alan Krasnoff. The female and male athletes of the year were Lauryn Ghee of Grassfield High School and Shon Mitchell of Oscar Smith High School. Coach Ryan Wieck of Hickory High School was honored as Coach of the Year, and Phil Johnson received the Robert G. Bagley Award as the Sports Club Member of the Year.
