Catch-up With the Chesapeake Sports Club

The January meeting of the Chesapeake Sports Club was held at the Chesapeake Conference Center. Wayne Martin presented awards to three outstanding high school athletes: Erin Parks from Hickory High School (women's volley ball), in football Shon Mitchell from Oscar Smith High School (football), and Austin Obenour from Grassfield High School (men's volley ball).

Coach Jim Calhoun introduced two new Legends of Honor: Mr. Inside Dave McManus and Mr. Outside Raleigh Voight. Guest speaker Larry Griffin gave an inspiring presentation on his business and NFL careers and credited his high school and college coaches on getting him to believe he could achieve his goal of playing professional football.
