Catching Up With the Chesapeake Sports Club

The September meeting of the Chesapeake Sports Club featured guest speaker Barry Parkill, Director of Athletic Development at the University of Virginia. Mr. Parkill noted that universities today are under increased pressure to support their many athletic programs and that raising private donations are a challenge for many institutions. Two legends of honor were inducted, Henry Thomas and Gene McKinney. The guest speaker for the October meeting will be Executive Director of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Eddie Webb.
