H.E.R. Shelter set to open facility in Chesapeake
The H.E.R. Shelter is one step closer to opening an Emergency Shelter Facility for Domestic Violence Victims in Chesapeake with the recent purchase of a property that is wonderfully suited to house the shelter. At a recent public launch breakfast, $13,000 was raised towards their goal of $500,000 to open the Chesapeake shelter. H.E.R. Client, Melinda Williams with Old Point Bank gave an inspiring talk about her experience as a survivor of domestic violence and how the shelter helped her.
