Chesapeake Sports Club
The November meeting of the Chesapeake Sports Club was held at the Chesapeake Conference Center. Landis Neal was inducted as the 48th recipient of the Legends of Honor. Mr. Neal was an outstanding athlete at Great Bridge High School. He starred on the baseball team as a pitcher and signed a professional contract with the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1950s. The guest speaker was Old Dominion University Monarch captain and two time All-American basketball player David Twardzik. Mr. Twardzik is a former NBA point guard. Also, the fall sports awards were presented to three outstanding student athletes from Chesapeake High Schools.
