Medical Reserve Corp honors volunteers
The 5th anniversary of the Volunteer Appreciation of the Chesapeake Medical Reserve Corps gave recognition to those who are committed to support emergency response and public health. Guest speaker for the evening event was Wanda Barnard-Bailey, PhD, and Deputy City Manager for Human Development. Special recognition was given to the 2008 volunteers of the year. Becky Washburn, MPA, CHT, CHPD is the director of this group of volunteers who number over 233 and support Chesapeake with thousands of hours of service.
