Historic exhibition honors Black public safety officers
The Bells Mill Historical Research and Restoration Society recently hosted the unveiling of an historic exhibit saluting Black public safety officers who made history in the city. Among those honored are Everette Gorum, Lt. Melvin Albritten, Captain Vernon Gordon Sr., LeDeanna Sykes, Sgt. Vivian Cooper, Lt. Katrenia Washington, and Major William Bennett. The Greenbrier Public Library exhibit will be open to the public during regular library hours from April 22 to May 12.
