Debra DiCroce, who led Tidewater Community College for 14 years before becoming President and CEO of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation in March, was recently honored as Chesapeake’s First Citizen. Dr. DiCroce has an impressive list of honors preceding this most recent award, including Virginia’s Lawyers Weekly Influential Woman of Virginia in 2010 and being named No. 21 on Inside Business’s 2012 Power List of 75 people in Hampton Roads, to name just a few.
The Chesapeake Rotary Club selects a First Citizen each year and proceeds from the banquet go to the organization’s many charities.
