The family of The Shopper’s senior writer, John Downs Sr., gathered on Mother’s Day for a delicious celebration at Broken Egg Bistro on Kempsville Road. Lynne Downs, a mother of six, is a former Chesapeake Mother of the Year and an accomplished poet and teacher.
