Local Oscar Smith High School Student honors teacher

Ms. Scott, a local history teacher from Oscar Smith High School, was recently treated to a day of pampering. One of her 10th grade students, Vanessa, searched the web for ideas on how to honor her teacher and discovered MakeoverMyHero.com. After reading about local heroes in everyday communities who never get thanked, she submitted her teacher, Ms. Scott, as her hero candidate. Vanessa feels that Ms. Scott is very special, always taking time after class, encouraging her students, listening to their problems, and truly caring for them. Four local businesses were kind enough to donate goods and services to provide Ms. Scott with a fun-filled, glamorous day. The special day included a session of yoga at Chesapeake Hot Yoga, followed by the works from Natural Elements and Spa including a Pedicure, Massage, Hair Coloring, Highlights, a Styling and Makeup. The grand finale was attending a Norfolk Tides baseball game where Vanessa and some other students were waiting to surprise her. Congratulations Ms. Scott!
