Golf event raises money for public safety memorial
More than 30 golfers hit the greens for a recent charity event at Cahoon Plantation Golf Course. It was sponsored by Kim Cummings Foundation to benefit the Chesapeake Public Safety Memorial Fund. When completed, the memorial will recognize Public Safety Officers killed in the line of duty. A luncheon, a dinner and an prize auction, sponsored by local businesses, were among the day's other events. This was the second year for the event started by Buddy Cummings, owner of Buddy's Sports Pub, to honor the memory of his late wife, Kim Cummings.
