Suffolk Parks & Recreation hosts football skills camp

Suffolk Parks and Recreation recently hosted a football skills camp and competition at John F. Kennedy Middle School. Interested players in several age categories met to demonstrate their punting, passing and kicking skills. Participants hope to advance to the district competition and the national finals. Players enjoyed competing against their peers and gaining valuable tips from coaches.

Bishop Babb played with his dog Kuma while his brother competed.

Antonio Perez and his son A.J., who participated in the 11-13 year old division.

First time competitor Anthony Bornino and his proud father, Samuel Bornino.

Noah Giles plays football with the Suffolk Titans, and his father, Anthony Giles, is the coach.

Juanita Smith and her son William.

Kim Harris, background, and her sons Avery, left, and Bishop Babb, and their friend Logan Harris.

Suffolk Parks and Recreation staff made sure the players had a great time while competing and learning.

Proud father Rodney Spears, center, with sons Rashard, left, and Cameron, who both competed.

Event organizer Joanne Turner, Parks and Recreation Athletic Leader, hopes all children get involved with sports.
