Chesapeake Sports Club Jamboree
The Seventh Annual Chesapeake Sports Club Jamboree packed the house at the Chesapeake Conference Center. NFL Hall of Famer Kenny Easley was the keynote speaker, and was presented an award by the newly appointed mayor of Chesapeake, Rick West, as well as Cliff Hayes, Delegate of the House of Representatives. The Robert G. "Buddy" Bagley Sports Club Member of the Year honor was awarded to R. Carroll Smith Jr. The Female Athlete of the year was Peyton Tollaksen from Great Bridge in the sport of Field Hockey. The Male Athlete of the Year was Micaiah Harris of the Western Branch track team. The High School Coach of the Year award went to Roland Wright, the baseball coach of Western Branch High School.
