Portsmouth Sports Club
The monthly meeting of the Portsmouth Sports Club was held at the Elizabeth Manor Country Club.
The Western Branch High School's baseball and track teams were honored for winning their respective state championships. Coaches Roland Wright and Claude Toukene, along with their players and Principal Dr. Thomas Whitley, accepted the awards from President Sharon Moore. The guest speaker was Executive Director of the Virgina Golf Hall of Fame, Gib Palmer, who explained the unique concept of having the hall as a virtual museum existing totally on the net without a physical building.
