At its August meeting, the Chesapeake Sports Club inducted Bobby Clifton as its 100th Legend of Honor recipient. Throughout his exemplary career with the Chesapeake Department of Parks & Recreation, Bobby helped shape the lives of countless young people in the city. He shared credit for the honor with the people in his life who helped set him on the right path. Golf tournament Chairman Dave McManus announced another successful event that raised $23,600 for the scholarship fund. NFL great Roy Jefferson was the guest speaker, sharing how his childhood bout with scarlet fever shaped his love of learning, and made him a better student.
