She Said Yes!
The surprise New Year's Eve proposal in Times Square all started with a trip to Long's Jewelers in Chesapeake. It was a family affair. Bruce Jones, of Jones Printing, and his wife, Sherry, accompanied their son Matt, a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force currently stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, on his visit to see Steve Long to pick out the perfect ring for his bride-to-be, Kelly Burns.
Matt's father, Bruce, and brother Mark, second and third generation family members of Jones Printing in Chesapeake, helped Matt mastermind and pull off the New Year's Eve proposal in Times Square.
As the ball dropped to usher in 2012, Matt dropped to one knee and surprised Kelly when he asked for her hand in marriage.
She said yes! The newly engaged couple sealed the deal with a kiss as the crowd cheered with excitement.
