Chesapeake Lions donate a tree
The Chesapeake Host Lions Club donated a Ginko tree to the City of Chesapeake and planted it at Portlock Gallery. This is the Lions Club's first Green Team project and tree planting, which they hope to replicate throughout their South Norflok area in the years to come. The City of Chesapeake's Parks and Recreation Department was grateful for this generous donation. Considering the many social, aesthetic, functional, environmental, and recreational benefits of trees, this is a fine example of community teamwork helping to achieve environmental enhancement, thus improving the quality of life for all Chesapeake citizens.
