Annual Food Fest benefits senior programs

Sheriff John R. Newhart hosted the annual Food Fest at Chesapeake City Park to raise money for his senior charity programs. Those who came out for the event enjoyed a vast array of food and beverage samplings from local restaurants, music provided by The River Boyz, and some pretty spectacular fireworks.

Milford and Susan Deaver who recently retired to Florida came out to partake in the festivities.

Martha Frugard, left, Senior Account Executive for The Shopper, and her dear friend Sandy enjoyed a chance to hang out together.

In Tai Ryu, left, of Left Brain Systems, and Kent Mack of Evolv were on hand to sell tickets for the Chesapeake Wine Festival.

The Shopper's own Nikki Young paused for a photo op with Congressman J. Randy Forbes and his lovely wife Shirley.
