Because of COVID, annual celebrations nationwide have either been suspended or undergone some creative changes. Since there was no Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, the city celebrated “Yardi Gras.” At the HER Shelter here in Hampton Roads, “Mardi Bras” is being celebrated. “Mardi Bras” helps domestic violence survivors by collecting new undergarments.
