Congratulations to Deputy Q. Burke and Deputy R. Hastings! Recently, Service Officer Jim Ireland and Past Post Commander Carl Dozier from the VFW Post 2894 presented them with plaques recognizing them as the post’s "Deputies of the Year." In November 2019, Deputies Burke and Hastings came across a multiple vehicle accident involving an overturned 18-wheeler and a tour bus in the Afton Mountains. They secured the scene, helped evacuate the tour bus, and helped free the driver of the 18-wheeler who was pinned in the cab of his vehicle. Way to go!
