Central Chesapeake Republican Women’s Club honors Wendy Ewell Childers at Simply Red Leadership Luncheon

The Central Chesapeake Republican Women's Club honored Wendy Ewell Childers at their annual Simply Red Leadership Luncheon. Wendy and Randy lost their son, LCpl Cody S. Childers in a vicious firefight in Afghanistan. In his memory, they founded We Care Marines and have sent thousands of care packages to Marines and sailors serving overseas. There wasn't a dry eye in the room as Wendy recounted Cody's story. Attendees were also treated to an inspiring keynote address on volunteering from Ashley Smith Dennis.
