Portsmouth Sports Club
The Portsmouth Sports Club met on January 15 at Elizabeth Manor Country Club. Guest speaker Ted Alexander- "The Voice of the Old Dominion Monarchs"- described a day in the life of a play-by-play announcer in college sports. Telecasting all ODU sporting events, Ted is constantly on the move, but given his enthusiastic presentation, he obviously loves his job. In addition to Ted's presentation, Johnny Harrell was awarded lifetime membership in the club.
The 72nd Annual Portsmouth Sports Club Jamboree will take place on March 1. This year's guest of honor will be NFL and Tar Heel football legend Dre Bly.
