Chesapeake Regional Medical Center holds emergency preparedness fair



In the lobby of Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, a fair was held to help prepare its employees and their families for potential disasters. During a disaster, employees would need to have their emergency plan ready, as many of them would need to come to work during a disaster to serve. The Chesapeake Health Department, American Red Cross, and the VA-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team were some of the organizations available to help assist and inform people about being prepared in a time of emergency.

All eyes were on Pappy the parrot and his handler Mike Wauhop of Zoo Pro of Virginia Beach.

Eastern Atlantic Ocean Chesapeake Bay Ambulance EMTs were on hand to help at the fair, from left: Russell Gordon, Jason Barker and Dustin Shacklford.

Clinical Nurse Educator Diana Yanero-Albert listened to Warren Leon Thomas of the American Red Cross give information about disaster packing preparedness.
