Catch Up With the Chesapeake Sports Club

The Chesapeake Sports Club recently held their monthly meeting at the Conference Center. Golf Tournament Director Dave McManus announced the event was a tremendous success, raising a record $25,835. Councilman Lonnie Craig has obtained a plaque to be mounted in the Conference Center to honor the first Legend of Honor, Brent Nielson. Bobby Royster, football stand-out at Great Bridge High School, was inducted as the 81st Legend of Honor. Major league player John Grub, the guest speaker, said his advice to younger players is that by blending talent with hard work, there is nothing they can't accomplish.
