Pick-up With the Portsmouth Sports Club
The Portsmouth Sports Club held their annual new member meeting at the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame. Prospective new members were welcomed by Club President Ned McCabe. Guest speaker and former New York Yankee pitcher Jim Coates spoke about his illustrious career and the World Series win of 1961. Gene Luke introduced scholarship winners Jordan Hill of I.C. Norcom High School and Elizabeth Andrews of Western Branch High School who expressed their appreciation for their awards and the educational opportunities it would afford them.
