Out of the Darkness
The tenth annual Hampton Roads' Out of the Darkness Community Walk was held recently at Mt. Trashmore in Virginia Beach. Every year, this massive event serves as a day of awareness, education, and remembrance for those who have lost their battles with depression.

A new feature at this year's walk was the Names Remembered List. A list of the names of those lost to suicide is read during the program. If someone's loved one wasn't read, they could add their name to this list.
One thousand cranes are hung across the walk's starting point. Walkers walk through them to signify the start of the Walk around Mt. Trashmore.
